Both things

October 13, 2010

I want two things that I cannot have at the same time!

Tonight my sister gave birth to her new baby girl, Eleanor Marie Rolfes, who is 5 lbs 3 oz and 17 inches long.  She is perfect (though tiny), and I can’t wait to see her.  I am SO happy for my sister that everything went well!  And hearing all about it makes me want my own lil’ babe soo much.

Then I come home and read my friend’s blog, and she’s written about roller derby.   And she has videos on there that make my heart sing.  And I think about the community I have, and the way it is really amazing to go very fast, and how cool it is to be really good at something.  I think, “How can I quit?”

I guess I just need to be thankful that there is more than one thing that I’m excited to do with my body…

  1. …and blessed that your body is poised to do both of those things – maybe not at the same time, maybe not without some bumps along the way (literally!) – but that your body *can*…well, i think that’s pretty neat, too. ❤
